The 2026 CrossFit Open Is Here!

It’s hard to believe the CrossFit Open live announcement was almost a year ago!

For the 2026 CrossFit Spur Intramural Open we will be making a few changes to the points system and adding a few fun twists. Make sure your entire team understands how the system works so your team doesn’t miss out on any points.

Lets get right into it… how do we win??

Pre-Season Points:
– Signing up for The CrossFit Open online (Register Here) [30 points]
– Completing the Judges Course (Register Here) [30 points]
* if these are not complete before the first night of the intramural open they may still be completed but points are reduced
–> complete before 2/27/26 = 30 points
–> complete before 3/6/26 = 20 points
–> complete before 3/13/26 = 10 points

In-Season Points:
– Friday night participation @ Spur [25 points]
– Online score submission @ games.crossfit.com or the games app [15 points]
– Judging another athlete @ Spur (any time – not just friday) [10 points]

Spectator Points: (voted on by spectators)
– Best weekly theme [1st = 50 / 2nd = 30 / 3rd = 15]
– Overall team spirit [1st = 50 / 2nd = 30 / 3rd = 15]
– Best individual effort [1st = 75 / 2nd = 50 / 3rd = 25]

Social Media:
– Post about your team on Instagram and tag @crossfitspur [5 points per post]
* each team is allowed 10 posts per submission window
* submission window = Thursday @ 3pm (announcement) to Monday @ 8:00pm (score deadline)

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  1. Submitting scores online is NOT controlled by John or anyone at Spur. If an athlete does not submit their correct score before the deadline we can not add, remove or modify their score online.
  2. If you did not complete the judges course online you can NOT judge other athletes and use someone else’s name. If this is the case we will DEDUCT 10 points per incident from your team.
  3. If someone can’t make it to Friday night at Spur they can still perform the workout and submit a score as long as it’s before the deadline. ** If an athlete does not feel ready to perform the workout on Friday night, do the workout as practice on Friday then re-test later so they still earn Friday night participation points **

Pick your favorite cast of characters. Use your creativity and see if you can somehow tie your team name or color into your theme of choice!

Week 3: Decades
This is team choice – pick your favorite decade (2000’s, 90’s, 80’s, 70’s, etc.) and figure out how your team can best represent!

Week 4: Beach Party

The first day of spring is right around the corner – let’s think warm with a beach party!
